Decisions for Everton
|
What a difference a week makes. This time last week we were discussing whether or not to keep the side as it was vs Chelsea or whether to make subtle changes due to the opposition and the fact the game was away.
In the end Bilic decided on 2 changes, a tactical one in Moses in for Zarate and a forced change Carroll for Sakho. Neither of these changes worked in what was a truly awful performance.
I was worried pre-game about the pace Watford have in attacking area's and we really struggled to cope with it.
The area's I feel Slaven needs to look into are as follows.
With Collins out (although I'm pretty sure he'd out regardless of the red) is it Ogbonna or Reid to come in, or do Ogbonna and Reid start in place of Collins and Tomkins. Tomkins has had a great season and would be cruel to drop him after 1 bad performance but for me our best centre back pairing is Reid and Ogbonna. I'm also hoping Ogbonna will be able to handle Lukaku better than our other centre backs have.
Noble - has really struggled of late and if Obiang is fit I feel he has to start. I am hoping it Noble is just in need of a rest as he is still an important part of this squad, hence why he was made captain.
Moses/Zarate - I thought it was extremely harsh to drop Zarate last week for Moses but understood the decision. Moses again failed, Bar Newcastle and Man city I have felt he has been pretty poor. Zarate on the other hand always seems to contribute something, so for me Zarate starts.
Upfront - We saw last week if we didn't already know exactly what Sakho brings to this team and that we have no one else capable of doing the same. Sakho is again out so this leaves a huge decision, do we go with 2 upfront or stick with 1.
My team
.............................Adrian
Jenkinson......Reid...Ogbonna......Cresswell
....................Obiang....Kouyate
...Zarate................Payet..................Lanzini
...........................Carroll

I think Valencia is fit, and it was an error in Bilic's column.
Theres an article on the site today about Valencia pushing for a start. I think the article was actually talking about Song.

we need Obiang today. if Naysmith and Barklay start then we could be overrun through the centre, Noble won't be able to cope on his own

I would have Valencia instead of AC. Let Enner just run in front of the Everton Defence all day and have them running all over the shop trying to keep him quiet then Lanzin and Zarate will be able to get into the holes and on the end of Payets assists.

Good recruitment team 64, hence we went after Henry and our transfer policy immediately improved.

Got to keep Barclay quiet. Don't let Coleman maraud up the wing. Lukaku must be shackled.
Actually I look at their team and it has quality right through it. How do they do it year in year out with no big sugar daddy.
